EDIT: got a call from Meijer, orientation is tomorrow @ 10 am. bring two forms of ID.
you complain about things and they change...ALL HAIL THE POWER OF DUR INTERWEBS!
Srsly, that's all. Just want to start my job at Meijer (omg call me boss ppl, I'm ready to work!). Just want to pay off my student loans ($3k, ugh why did I take so much out?). Just want to pay for a year at lmc.
/Sigh anyway, I saw sucker punch in imax with my friends from back home. Will pretty much summed it up: "it was like being humped in the face by everything my 14 year old self loved"
Just got a phone call from 312, maybe a 316 # (can't remember, even tho it was less than 5 minutes ago, and I can't leave this page and go.check it since I'm on my phone typing this and if I leave this txt window, all my pretty words will delete) but anyway this lady on the other end asked for Lisa and I kindly told her that I'm Alex, you probably dialed this number by mistake. She then said "well the number she gave was 269-277-0477" which is my number, and I told her so. She then said "well isn't Lisa a loser" then hung up.
I giggled

weeee
So Florida was pretty cool. drove down there, hung out with Eric R for a few days. We went to Little Havana in Miami, went to the beach almost every day. Watched people (including Eric) surf, saw jelly fish all washing up on shore, swam w/ a zebra-striped fishy. Went out to eat for Jared's birthday. Then we went camping, and visited a drive through safari w/ all sorts of awesome animals and such. then we drove home. Only spent $450 on the entire trip (including my share of gas)
I'm still working at Haworth (idk if I mentioned I'm back there, but I am). It's a pretty nice job. Only about 20-22 hours a week, but at $9/hr it isn't bad. Gives me enough money to start putting a dent in the $3k I have in student loan debts.
Have an interview this Wednesday for a position at Meijer, hopefully in their electronics department, because I'm all about movies and cameras and stuff like that...it'll be pretty cool to work there.
Wonder if I'll be able to work both of those jobs...It's possible, it's just a lot of commuting, and I'll be working a lot of nights/weekends. But someone has to do so. And I'd be able to pay for a year's worth of LMC a lot quicker.
Jared, AJ and I are thinking about a return trip to Florida this summer (well the first two weeks of May) We want to go all over Florida and the south. Get some legit BBQ, go deep sea fishing, go boar hunting in the everglades. Go to Universal Studios Orlando. Swim. Lady watch ;)
So hopefully I'll be able to go again.
Chris VE turns 21 at the end of the month...he made an event on Facebook about it, and didn't invite me, which I understood, because everyone else he invited was already 21...but AJ asked what about me, that I could @ least be the DD, and Chris said, "oh yeah, I'll invite him, even if his driving is as bad as a drunk driver" which pissed me off.
Yeah, sure I've had a few unpleasant experiences w/ cars, but fuck him, I mean really.... The accident w/ the VW Bug, I hydroplaned on a puddle of water as I was accelerating onto the on ramp. That situation was actually not that bad. Yeah the bug was totaled, but for whatever reason, there was no oncoming traffic as we went across the highway, and neither me or Adri were hurt when we slammed broadside into the concrete barrier.
And my car after that? Yeah drove that for almost 3 years before its transmission died, and it was cheaper to look for a new car, rather then investing in a new tranny, then a new engine, and a host of other new parts. the car was already close to 200k miles. And I drove it to the day it stopped looking.
And my new car? Yeah there was a learning curve for driving stick. Just like there is for everyone who does it. But now I can drive stick on any car, and infact, I prefer stick shifts to automatics. I feel like I have more control over the car and besides, it's more fun to drive. :P
so fuck that, but I'm still going to the party :P
Last weekend we had a bonfire, and played the "alphabet drinking game" how that works is Person A starts w/ any word they choose, and then the person after him has to say a word that begins w/ the last letter of the previous word and so one. If you goof (say a word that's already been used, or say a word that doesn't start w/ the previous word's last letter) you had to do a shot of everclear. Which is nasty stuff. we had a liter bottle of it..and 3 of us (AJ Jared and I, Nick R was there, but he had to go home later/he was our ref) put 2/3s of it away by the time we came inside. Jared was passed out on the floor.
I started playing Red Dead Redemption @ AJ's house last weekend too. Still haven't beaten it. It's a long game. Really addicting and fun to play tho, so that's a plus. I'm also working on beating Assassin's Creed II, so I can finish Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Went shooting on Thursday, that was fun. Fired a .22 Magnum revolver...which was really loud and a lot of fun, for being such a tiny caliber. Also found what gun I'll be buying when I turn 21...it's a Ruger Super RedHawk Alaskan .44 revolver. I'm going to take the gun safety course, as well as shooting courses, and going to apply for and educate myself about the Conceal Carry Laws of MI, and you know, really learn to respect the gun, as well as learn all about taking care of the gun and stuff like that
I'm really excited for going back to LMC/getting back on track w/ my life. I wasted these past 2 years or so. Never did much, and I don't really have anything to show for it:
I had a girlfriend; she left
I made new friends; they don't talk to me anymore
I moved to the other side of the state; I'm back home
I'm planning on doing the Winter 2011 Semester (Sep-Dec), then the Spring 2012 semester (Jan-May), then to accelerate things, their new Summer 2012 Semester (May-Aug) and then finish the Winter 2012 semester, hoping to be able to transfer to WMU or somewhere before 2013...
Going to major in Psychology at least...might minor in philosophy, or pick up another major...depends. I'm just so tired of being stagnant. I don't wanna be the guy taking one or two classes while working a dead end job. I'm ready to bloody buckle down and toil away at what I need to do to get things going.
